The Vineyards

Distant from urbanization and the disturbance it would bring with it, there is Fattoria Casabianca in the commune of Murlo in the province of Siena at the border to the province of Montalcino, with the typical climate and typology of this area.

The 145 ha of vineyards lie between 140 and 235 m above sea-level, mostly situated in a north-south-position, with a density of 5000 vine-plants per hectare.

The cultivated vines, results of an experimental cultivation of the Fattoria Casabianca, are for the most part Sangiovese, typical for this region, but also Merlot, which reaches excellent results, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Colorino and Canaiolo.

The large dimension of the wine-cultivation with its different micro-climates allows a careful and exact grape harvest, as well as the removal of sideshoots and the clip of the vines all through the year.
So we reach the excellence refound in the wineglass. Also the ripening of the grapes is continually controlled by our winemakers, so they can set the optimal time for starting the harvest.
